Home inspection is completed before someone sells a home and is usually the responsibility of the one purchasing the home.
However if there is anything in need of repair, it is the responsibility of the homeowner to have these repairs done before the sale is completed.
If you have just had your home remodeled or refurbished then you should have a home inspection and when you do make sure it has been done correctly. This would be the homeowner's responsibility to pay for the home inspection because you are the one who ordered it and you are the one who needs it to make sure that everything is up to code with the new remodeling or additions to your home.
You want to make sure you get a home inspection after you have remodeled or refurbished your home to make sure everything has been completed correctly. There are special codes and conditions that must be met when you have refurbished or remodeled your home. A home inspection will make sure that these have been met.
Some contractors or construction companies will offer a free home inspection with their work because they have a certified home inspector on their payroll. Beware of this because if they're inspecting their own work, they may inspect it positively when something may be wrong.
It would be best to insist on an outside, independent home inspector when it comes to inspecting your home after home remodeling or repairs. As a paying customer, the loyalties are to you and your report will be unbiased.. It is your home and your property so you should be able to choose the home inspector.
