Scaffolding Systems

Scaffolding systems that are correctly designed will have work levels which are decked with regulation sized planks and have appropriate access for workers.

A conventional scaffolding system will be made of a number of sections which are stacked up to build a framework to a desired height.

Be aware when working on scaffolding systems. You will always at risk from falls and falling objects that could cause very serious of even fatal injuries.

In some cases scaffolding systems may require expensive anchor assemblies which are to be installed onto the building structure.

As a qualified scaffolder, you will be able to seek employment with building contractors specialist scaffolding firms and even oil and power companies.

Do not take up boards, move handrails or remove ties from independent scaffolding to gain access for work.

There are many types of small portable scaffolding towers that can be hired or purchased relatively cheaply for use in a domestic or DIY situation.

You may wish to buy scaffolding rather than rent if for economic reasons.

Never cut corners when erecting DIY scaffolding by leaving out cross braces or out riggers which give stability to the structure.

Scaffolding platforms should consist of undressed 2x10s that have been properly inspected and graded. The maximum allowable gap between planks is 1".
