Drywall Plastering
Facts, Hints & Tips

Drywall Plastering

Drywall plastering is used to finish interior walls. But you have to be careful to choose the right type of plastering for the right location, as there are different types.

If you are interested in doing a lot of drywall jobs, it is worth investing in some tools like an assortment of joint knives, stilts, a taping banjo or some other special tools.

There are some common problems linked with drywall plastering and these are blisters on the plastering, and the tape also tends to fall off at places.

Drywall Plastering is often replaced with other forms of traditional plastering because it is labor intensive and expensive as well.

In many new homes today drywall plastering is undoubtedly the favorite wall covering material. It costs relatively less and performs well in most applications. It is also easy to install and the finished look is also good, especially after it is painted properly.

As you set about your next plastering job it's well worth cleaning the plasterboards first. Dust and dirt will create problems so a little time spent in preparation will pay dividends later.

Mixing skim plaster for the first time is difficult and can cause people problems if they haven't done it before.

If you are a novice plasterer then you might prefer to start in a spare bedroom with an existing poor finish that can only be made better which will greatly reduce the stress on you. Remember, you can plaster skim the walls as many times as you like so you can always go over a not so perfect job later as you get better.

A highly specialised form of plastering called Venetian Polished Plaster has rapidly grown in popularity.

Due of its pliable nature plaster can be manipulated to fit into just about any nook or cranny.
