Build Summerhouse

To maximize the life and maintenance of your summerhouse it’s recommended that you don’t have trees or shrubs overhanging it.

In the middle of the 18th century, elaborate log cabins began to be constructed, known as the Adirondack style of cabins.

Due to the wood material, log cabins need to be maintained in order to keep the wood from decaying prematurely and to maximize their service.

In case of log homes with two storeys, the collar tiles, roof structures and the upper potions of cabins should be inspected.

When Europeans take on a build your own log cabin project, they will often use it as a summer house for use in the garden. However, many log cabins are now being built and used as home extensions more and more as a cheap alternative to traditionally constructed extensions.

Using traditional methods to build your own log cabin can take a lot longer than using a log cabin kit fabricated by a third party, but always remember that the level of satisfaction gained when you build your own log cabin will be a major compensation.

Summerhouses are a great centre for outdoor activity and relation as well as being a haven away from home in your own garden.

Summerhouses can often be known as screen houses, log cabins, gazeboes, kiosks, pavilions and pergolas.

It is interesting to note that currently, there are over 500,000 log homes in the U.S. This count accounts for 7% of the whole custom home building market in the U.S.

The very first log cabins in the United States were built by the Swedes approximately around the year 1638 in the area that has come to be known as Wilmington, Delaware.
